Here they are again – the Animal Rescuers: Grandpa Orlík, tall Matyáš, clever Miki, quiet Petr, slow Erik, and his super‑fast sister Sofie. What connects them all is their love for animals and their desire to help. Grandpa Orlík takes the kids on a spring walk to the creek. But everything goes wrong along the way: Erik ends up in the mud, and Grandpa Orlík loses his beloved pocket knife. The rescuers split up to solve all the mishaps. That’s when they discover an abandoned puppy that isn’t breathing. The fight to save its life begins. Will they succeed? You’ll see! 

The illustrations use bright, cheerful colours and gentle, humorous details. Even though the story includes serious moments — for example, when the children rescue a puppy that someone tried to drown — the visual style transforms these scenes and instead of fear, the illustrations guide them toward empathy, courage, and a natural desire to help.

The playful characters, soft shapes, and warm palette ensure that even difficult themes are presented in a way that feels accessible, hopeful, and empowering for young readers.
